This evening I got a request to delete yet another bio from the bios section.

Here's the deal. It takes a good deal of -- MY -- time to create those pages, add them when ever im asked, and also edit them when someone wants to change there info.
The last thing I want to do is DELETE them because someone got there panties in a bunch!

IF YOU ASK TO BE ADDED, BE PREPARED TO STAY ADDED!

I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but besides moderating this forum, and trying to keep everyone happy, I am ALSO trying to build an occasional guitar. Undoing what I've been asked to do is simply a waste of my time.

Rant over, stepping off my soap box.....

Why would anyone want their's deleted, unless they had overexposed themselves in some inappropriate fashion?
I can't figure that one. (Being one of the culprits who never gets around to assembling the info in the first place).

Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving, Lance, and thanks for all your efforts. This is my main place on the web, the first place I go in the AM and the last in the PM.

Jim

Ok so I guess it's just me but, in my humble opinion, I think that if someone
wants their personal story and picture removed then, no matter what the
reason, it should be done. Sure it is inconsiderate of your time, but it is,
after all, their info and if they no longer want it in the publics eye for some
unforeseen reason I think the request should be granted even if it does eat
up 30 minutes of your time.

I would agree with John and more. Unless you have bio people disclaim and transfer ownership of their likeness and personal info to the OLF you have no legal right to post it without permission. Either do away with the bios (because it's to big a hassle to maintain) or do what's needed to maintain them in good faith.

I think it would make sense to let people be responsible for their own profile/bio. You'd just need a slightly expanded version of the "profile" we have now with the current forum software. I know there's been some talk of switching to a different forum software, this might be a feature to consider.
